On this episode of LivinRvision, we start a journey to Canada! We’ve always wanted to explore parts of Canada but have never really had the perfect opportunity until now. After a few days in Minneapolis, we met with the driver of Grech RV that was delivering the new 2024 Grech RV Strada-ion to us and driving back our 2023 Strada-ion (Mini Vinny 2.0) to get cleaned up and ready to sell.
The night before we leave Minneapolis, we visited the RibFest at a local casino and get to see a free concert by, The Fray. The next morning we make our way to Canada and make a few stops along the way. One stop is called Betty’s Pies and we heard that it was always buys with a long line waiting for food and pie’s and they weren’t joking!
Our next stop takes us to Gooseberry Falls and you may want to also add this place to your places to stop during your travels. It is a short 1/2 mile walk to the lower, mid and upper falls, so a 1 mile round trip hike. Then we make our way on down the road loser to the Canada border to a casino called, Grand Portage Casino where they allow free overnight RV parking as well as an RV park for a fee.
Morning has arrived and we are off to Canada! We make a quick stop to exchange some US dollars to Canadian dollars at a fuel station that charges no fee to do the exchange. Both of us are nervous at this point because of all the stories we have heard from people having troubles trying to cross the border, but all went well!
Our next stop takes us to Thunder Bay where we visit another place that you may want to add to your list, Fort William Historical Park. It’s a very nice a HUGE living history park that we found very interesting and well worth our time and money. Then we ended our day with dinner in Thunder Bay and then called it a day at the Thunder Bay KOA Campground. We hope you enjoy!
